Each morning in summer (6 days a week) at Huttopia Chardons Bleus, the 5-12 year olds become Little Trappers as they enjoy fun activities always held out in the heart nature: treasure hunts, wooden hut building, Land’Art, and more!

Lovers of fine wines will enjoy visiting one of the island’s wine cellars, while families can make the most of the chance to take the children to the giant aquarium in La Rochelle

The coast is fringed with beautiful long, sandy beaches facing out over the ocean, while further inland, anyone who loves rural heritage will be right in their element exploring the vineyards, pine forests, woodlands, and legendary salt marshes.

 

Huttopia Chardons Bleus – Ile de Ré campsite, located in Sainte-Marie-de-Ré, is the ideal base camp for exploring the treasures of the island. You will love visiting the quaint little villages with their typical architecture or strolling along the harbours of Saint-Martin-de-Ré and la Flotte… An island with an enchanting holiday atmosphere!

Montamer Beach

This large sandy beach is situated just 2 kms from the campsite. The perfect beach for sunbathing by the water and taking a refreshing dip, while the children splash about in safety in the lifeguarded area.

Water sports

The ocean abounds with water sports for you to try. Have a go at surfing – the region’s iconic sport, catamaraning, windsurfing, kayaking or even paddle boarding on the salt marshes. Ideal for anyone who loves adrenaline fuelled thrills!

Saint-Martin-de-Ré

Discover the charming village of Saint-Martin-de-Ré, the island’s historic capital. Take a stroll through its pretty harbour, little lanes, and Vauban fortifications, which are listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Ars-en-Ré

17 km

Take a walk amidst one of the prettiest examples of the architecture of the Ile de Ré. Ranked among the most beautiful villages in France, Ars-en-Ré is a real must! You will be enchanted by its white houses with their green shutters, its flowery lanes and its salt marshes. Saint-Etienne church and bell tower are also classified as historic monuments.

La Flotte

Just 3 km from the campsite, La Flotte is one of the oldest villages on the Ile de Ré. This authentic former fishing village boasts a charming heritage, remarkable architecture and a pretty harbour. Its medieval market is also well worth visiting with its cobbled courtyard and picturesque market halls…

The Phare des Baleines Lighthouse

Visit the fabulous Phare des Baleines lighthouse. Climb the 257 steps of the Grand Phare to enjoy breathtaking views of the Ile de Ré and the ocean! In the Old Tower and its museum you will be able to learn all about the history of the island’s lighthouses. Meanwhile, the Parc des Baleines awaits you at the end of your visit for a nature break amidst the sound of birdsong…
