For a delicious start to the day, you can order your bread and pastries the day before. The village bakery delivers to us every morning.
For a good breakfast to eat in so you don’t need to prepare anything, head to our Food Corner, where you can get tea, coffee, juice, bread with butter and jam and pastries.

You can find all the shops you’ll need during your holiday at the village of Ars-en-Ré 2km away from the campsite: bakery, supermarket and markets, grocery shop, pharmacy and other shops to browse.
You’ll love having the ocean right by the campsite!
Make lapping waves the soundtrack to your holiday… We can’t recommend enough getting in the water while you’re here! You don’t need to go far to enjoy the ocean: Radia beach is only 50m from the campsite. Make the most of it and try your hand at shellfish gathering before coming back to enjoy your spoils – you can find clams, crabs and prawns. And, of course, get plenty of swimming in!

Seafood lovers can try their hand at shellfish gathering with Pascal. As soon as the tide goes out, you’ll get hunting, net in hand, and then come back to taste your spoils.
Observe the night sky in the company of two astronomers, who’ll share with you their knowledge and their passion for our beautiful galaxy.
6 days a week in July and August, experience magical moments with Huttopia’s evening entertainment.

– Shows: miming, theatre performances, magic shows…. Adults and children will all be enthralled.

There’s no shortage of daytime activities on Ile de Ré. It’s a fantastic destination for anyone who loves water sports or wants to explore and see all the island’s amazing sights by bike or on foot in any season.
Surfing, catamaran sailing, windsurfing, sea kayaking… The island lends itself incredibly well to water sports at both beginner and more advanced levels.
Cycling of course reigns supreme on the island, with all its little cycle paths. And you can do it at any time of year!
The island is packed with amazing examples of heritage: visit some of the fortifications of Vauban (a UNESCO World Heritage Site) in Saint-Martin-de-Ré

The campsite’s two sandy playgrounds give children the chance to have fun and make new friends.
The beach with kids
With the ocean just 50m away from Huttopia Ars-en-Ré campsite, children will love paddling in the water, collecting shells and making pretty sandcastles.
Each morning in summer (6 days a week) at Huttopia Ars-en-Ré, the 5-12 year olds become Little Trappers as they enjoy fun activities always held out in the heart nature: treasure hunts, wooden hut building, Land’Art, and more!
There’s plenty of opportunities to get active at Huttopia Ars-en-Ré! You can use the pétanque and beach volleyball courts. A table tennis table is provided and you have the chance to have a go at soft archery! You can also hire electric bikes to go and explore the surrounding area.

You can of course read a book in the Central Lodge or play a board game or table football.
For curious minds, the Phare des Baleines site has two places that are well worth a visit, both indoors: the lighthouse, one of the highest in France, and the historical museum. You can also call in at Musée Ernest Cognacq, an art and history museum, for a glimpse back in time.
Wine buffs will want to stop off to taste some wines and spirits at one of the island’s wineries, while others will want to take the opportunity to visit the artisanal soap making workshop in the village of Loix.

Cycling is the best way to get around the island, which has over 100km of cycle paths winding along the coast and through pine forests, salt marshes and alleyways. A wonderful opportunity to explore breathtaking landscapes.
Named one of France’s most beautiful villages, the village of Ars-en-Ré is one of the architectural highlights of the island, where you can wander the cobbled streets, admire the white houses with their coloured shutters and visit historic landmarks such as Saint-Etienne church, built in a mixture of Roman and Gothic styles.
Explore the world of Ile de Ré’s salt marshes, starting with an exhibition explaining how traditional salt production works and finishing off with a guided tour of a working salt marsh. By the end, you’ll know all there is to know about the plants of the marsh and the work of salt manufacturers.
Have a go at some of the water sports the area is known for: between surfing, windsurfing, catamaran sailing and kayaking, there’s endless fun to be had on the ocean. Don’t hesitate to ask our team for the best spots on the island.
Saint-Martin-de-Ré, the historic capital of the island, is a port village protected by ramparts. You’ll love its harbour, pretty streets and flower-filled alleyways. Before you leave, go and see the famous fortifications of Vauban, part of a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
There are plenty of Ile de Ré specialities from both land and sea that you shouldn’t miss if you stay on the island. Stop off at one of the many wineries to taste a Charentais wine or wander round the traditional markets tasting the oysters and local potatoes the island is known for.
What is there to do on Ile de Ré with kids (and the rest of the family)? Here are a few ideas for things to do during your stay on the island.
Head to Parc de la Barbette for rides on the backs of the island’s famous donkeys in trousers. An experience your kids won’t soon forget!
Come face-to-face with over 12,000 marine animals at La Rochelle’s aquarium. The whole family will love being plunged into the world of the oceans for an hour and a half.
Immerse yourself in the nature of Ile de Ré with a visit to the Lilleau des Niges nature reserve, a site which plays host to thousands of migrating birds.
