WHY CHOOSE CAMPING WITH YOUR GRANDCHILDREN?
A UNIQUE CONNECTION BETWEEN GENERATIONS

Camping, by its very nature, encourages multigenerational stays: you live together without getting in each other’s way, you share experiences while respecting everyone’s desires and rhythms.

Strengthening family bonds

Camping is the ideal opportunity to share moments of bonding, listening and knowledge transfer. Away from daily distractions, around a campfire, during a forest walk or a creative workshop, grandparents and grandchildren take time to tell each other stories and weave memories that will remain engraved.

A favorable setting for intergenerational bonds

Going on holiday with your grandchildren also means finding a place where everyone can flourish at their own pace. Between freedom, nature, outdoor activities and comfort, camping ticks all the boxes. Children find an infinite playground there, grandparents a peaceful and secure setting, conducive to rest, reunions and moments of sharing.

Benefits for child development

While camping, children gain autonomy, discover community life and open up to the world. They make new friends through the activities offered, participate in creative workshops, enjoy aquatic spaces and learn about nature: so many fun and educational experiences in a unique and secure natural environment.

Benefits for grandparents

Sharing holidays with your grandchildren is a real boost of energy! This enchanted break allows them to stay active, temporarily forget their daily routine and rediscover their inner child. Outdoor activities, family atmosphere and children’s laughter are a source of joy, dynamism and well-being, beneficial for physical and mental health.

Escape from screens

While camping, the setting is conducive to total disconnection. Make way for outdoor activities: swimming in the pool, fun games, canoeing and kayaking, forest walks… A real return to simple pleasures that encourages disconnection and discovery of nature.

An economical and flexible choice

Camping is an advantageous option for families: numerous accommodation choices, flexible stay duration, possibility to cook on site, activities included… Everyone can adapt their stay to their budget and desires.

THE ASSETS OF A HUTTOPIA STAY FOR GRANDPARENTS AND THEIR GRANDCHILDREN

A privileged natural setting

Huttopia campsites are real playgrounds in the heart of nature: mountains, forests, lakes, beach… Perfect for raising children’s awareness about environmental protection. They can enjoy facilities that respect the locations and large accessible natural areas: undergrowth, meadows, trails… They will also be made aware of waste sorting, reasonable use of energy and respect for local wildlife.

Varied and supervised activities

Our “Les Petits Trappeurs” activity program is designed to develop children’s adventurous side: land art, tree climbing, creative workshops, nature discovery… Also enjoy the numerous leisure facilities at your disposal (playground, foosball, ping-pong, board games…) and aquatic spaces with heated pool and paddling pool to share play moments between young and old!

Comfortable accommodation and spacious pitches

Chalets, equipped “ready-to-camp” tents, cabins: enjoy comfort (real beds, equipped kitchens, private bathrooms) and services designed for families. Owners of a caravan or motorhome, choose a shaded camping pitch to set up.

The best times to go

To benefit from advantageous rates and avoid crowds, favor the May-June and September periods. These times offer pleasant weather, mild temperatures and particularly generous nature. Spring school holidays also constitute an ideal period for these intergenerational getaways.

BEST PREPARING THE MULTIGENERATIONAL TRIP
OUR PRACTICAL ADVICE

Choosing the right destination and suitable accommodation
The campsite selection must take into account several essential criteria. Favor accessible destinations with short travel times to preserve the comfort and energy of the whole family. Choose places offering a varied natural setting (seaside, mountains, countryside) with nearby attractions. Consider the children’s age and grandparents’ capabilities when making your choice.

Helping children cope well with separation
To facilitate separation from parents, it’s important to involve children in holiday preparation. Pack the suitcase with them, choose the favorite cuddly toy or toy together, explain the stay duration in “sleeps”. Why not test a first night to reassure them? During your stay, suggest children send a postcard to their parents. A nice way to tell about their holidays with you.

Prepare yourself serenely for successful holidays
Let go of usual rules and adapt your rhythm to daily life. Think about giving yourself regular breaks and moments just for you. This flexibility is the key to fully enjoying calm and pleasant holidays with the whole family. Anticipate small inconveniences: fatigue or passing tantrums. Prepare diversion activities, maintain reassuring rituals and don’t hesitate to adapt the program according to the general mood.

Documents and safety
Don’t forget the essentials: parental authorization, vaccination record, health insurance card, first aid kit. These precautions will reassure you in case of any bumps. Think about listing essential items not to forget before departure.

Daily logistics
Think about meal organization, laundry maintenance (on-site laundry), baby or child equipment rental (travel cot, high chair…). This prior organization frees up time to fully enjoy sharing moments without stress.

TESTIMONIALS AND EXPERIENCE FEEDBACK

Families who have chosen Huttopia for their holidays unanimously testify to the richness of these experiences. Grandparents and grandchildren return full of memories shared together. These stays can mark the beginning of a family tradition, creating privileged bonds that endure beyond holidays.

« Very clean and quiet campsite. Pool very well adapted to small children. Wooden games very appreciated. Lake and beach right next to the campsite but independent and very pleasant. Pleasant staff. We’ll return because it’s well adapted to our 5-year-old grandson. »
at Huttopia Étang de Fouché

« Beautiful camping pitches, a magnificent environment, beautiful accommodations such as sanitary facilities, etc. For us, it was like scouting: the hearth and outdoor kitchen, a beautiful discovery that we also used twice with my 2 adult scout children and my 2 grandchildren. »
at Huttopia Vallée de la Semois

« I’ve been coming here for 45 years (first with children, then with grandchildren). This was the first time with grandchildren after the takeover. It was striking to see how friendly and helpful all the staff were! »
